Georgetown: Newly-elected President of the Guyana Bar Association, Gem Sanford-Johnson is the third woman to be elected to the position.The former female presidents were Pearlene Roach and Avril Anande Trotman.
Mrs. Sanford-Johnson also has the distinction of serving as Vice-President of the Bar Association for five years during the presidency of Joseph Harmon, Kashir Khan and Teni Housty .
