TeacherGeorgetown: A frustrated teacher of Richard Ishmael Secondary School, Sherwin Williams climbed on to the roof of School this morning to protest non-payment of his salary for months.

Williams came down after Chief Education Officer Olato Sam and other ministry officials visited the school. A meeting was called. Williams said he was stricken by malaria and applied for sick leave which was denied and he has not been paid for months.

The teacher stood on the roof for hours even though his colleagues and others including President of Guyana Teachers Union, Colin Bynoe urged him to come down.
