Taj Television buys broadcast rights for West Indies cricket

Taj Television  Limited (Taj TV)  has acquired the television broadcast rights for West Indies cricket.

Because of the confidentiality clause in the deal, the West Indies Cricket Board (WICB) and Taj TV have agreed not to publicly disclose the monetary value of the contract.

The Indian television company has purchase the  global television broadcast rights but not the terrestrial broadcast rights within the Caribbean.

As part of the deal, Taj TV will be providing the television production for free to air stations throughout the region for the benefit of West Indies cricket fans.

Taj TV will be showcasing 253 days of international cricket as part of the new rights deal. The seven year contract between the WICB and Taj TV will start in January 2013.
