Students starts petition against tuition fees

Bridgetown.

The Guild of Students of the Cave Hill Campus of the University of the West Indies has started action against the introduction of tuition fees which were announced by Minister of Finance Chris Sinckler in the Financial Statement and Budgetary Proposals last week.

According to the president of the Guild Damani Parris, over 1000 signatures have been collected on a petition so far.

 Parris told Trakker News  the petition was opened for signing on campus and was taken to Heroes Square where the Barbados Labour Party held a mass meeting on Sunday night. The students plan to take their campaign to Bridgetown today.

He said  said the initiative would go on “for as long as it takes”.
