Sol paints manatee holding pond as part of environmental projects

PaintingGeorgetown: As part of their 10th anniversary, the management and staff of Sol Guyana Saturday  painted the environs of the Manatee Holding Pond at the Botanical Gardens.

General Manager, (GM) of Sol Guyana, Orlando Boxhill, noted that the company has grown tremendously over the past decade.

He explained that as part of the company’s social responsibility the painting of the manatee pond has become an annual event.

“We are not only about supporting the commercial aspects of the business but there are social projects that we do that promotes the wellbeing of the environment….we receive thousands of requests and we see which ones are more relevant such as education and the environment.”

Sol has awarded 51 Scholarship to Caribbean students, including Guyanese, who are pursuing studies in the faculties of engineering, Social Sciences and Science and Technologies across UWI campuses.

SOL Guyana owns a number of fuel stations, across the country. The Company which has its headquarters in Barbados has pledged to continue fulfilling its corporate responsibilities by supporting activities and projects that positively impact the lives of Guyanese.
