Rupununi : Police ranks in ‘F’ Division (Rupununi ) have within the past week, successful in seizing three unlicensed shotguns and several rounds of live cartridges and also apprehended four persons, one of whom was charged yesterday and remanded.
On January 14th, 2017, about 12:00 h. at Aishalton Village, South Rupununi, Orvin Roberts, 45 yrs. of the said village was found in possession of unlicensed single barrel shotgun and one live cartridge. He has since been charged and remanded until 7th March,2017.
On the January 19th ,2017 about 13:30 hr., a 40 yr. old Miner of Craig, E.B.D., was arrested at Twenty-Three Miles, Issano, for being in possession of an unlicensed single barrel shotgun, at his shop in Issano.
Also about 14:00h. on the said 19th January,2017, at Toka Village, North Rupununi, a 38 yr. old resident of Toka Village and his 72 yr. old father-in-law have been arrested for possession of an unlicensed single barrel shotgun, two live cartridges and eight spent cartridges (empty casings).
They are being processed for court
