Seventeen new city constables sworn in

ConstabularyGeorgetown: Mayor and Councillors of the City Of Georgetown has sworn in 17 new Constables that recently completed the basic recruitment and training programme for City Constables.

The Town Clerk Royston King in addressing the New Constables said that the City Council needs able bodied males to execute the mandate. 

The Chief Constable Andrew Foo said that the new addition would boost the complement of staff, particularly in the new divisions that were recently established: Traffic Management and Special investigation units.

Town Clerk King congratulated the new recruits on their successful completion of the basic recruits training programme. King told the new constables that it is not all about the monies but rather it is about working with the Municipality to realize the wider vision of making Georgetown the cleanest greenest city in the Caribbean. 

He said “you come at very special time in the history of the Municipality when the Council is working assiduously to restore the pride and dignity of the Georgetown”.  He further noted that the new ranks have a special role to play in enforcing the City by laws. Town Clerk said “I call upon you to make a difference,” it is important that you execute your functions with dignity, respect and decorum.  The Town clerk encouraged the new recruits to work as a team, because it is only through team work that the wider vision of the Georgetown Municipality would be accomplished.
