Seawall suicide couple identified

20151104ramesh-beharryGeorgetown: The couple found dead at the Kingston seawall on Monday have been identified as teenagers Kavita Ackloo and Ramesh Beharry, whose families were yesterday at a loss as to why they apparently took their own lives.

According to reports, Ackloo’s father identified her but could not say who the young man was. Guyana Times was told that the man went to the Brickdam Police Station to make a missing person’s report when ranks requested that he visit Lyken Funeral Home. His worst fears were confirmed as he was shown his daughter’s body, hence positively identifying her. This newspaper was told that Ackloo was a store clerk at Kavita Ackloo (2)Sharon’s Mall, King Street, Georgetown. Her father confirmed that she would have celebrated her birthday on November 5.
The couple was found on the seawall by joggers at about 17:00h on Monday. They were found lying close to each other. Police suspect that they both died as a result of suicide.
At the time of the sighting, the young man was wearing black demin pants (jeans), a white armless vest and black socks, while Ackloo was wearing green demin pants and a black T-shirt.
The bodies are currently at the Lyken Funeral Home. The Police have since reviewed a number of missing person’s reports in an effort to identify the young man.
