School bell wielding Head Teacher dismissed after hitting student

School BellGeorgetown: A Head Teacher who used the school bell for the purpose of hitting three students at the Sand Creek Primary School was found Guilty by the Teaching Service Commission (TSC) and her dismissal was recommended, according to Secretary of the TSC Pulandar Kandhi.

Kandhi noted that the teacher attended a meeting at the Commission on November 19, where he pleaded guilty to the allegations.

The Head Teacher of the Region Nine Primary School; Michael Alfred hit three students at the facility on October 09 with a Bell after they entered the school compound without saying ‘good morning.’

The two female students ages; ages 10 and 12+ and one male; age 10+, suffered injuries and were taken to the Lethem Hospital. An official from the ministry was on October 12 sent to the school to complete the investigation after which the incident was handed over to the TSC.

Initial investigation revealed that the teacher which was recently transferred to the school was experiencing personal difficulties and as a result took out his frustration on the students.
