Georgetown: 37-year-old Stanley Persaud, of Soesdyke, East Bank Demerara, was today attacked and robbed by a man who was armed with a knife, around 10:00hrs in Regent Street. The robber escaped on a bicycle with the victim’s gold band valued $260,000.
The robbery was captured on the CCTV of a nearby business place which was viewed and led to the arrest of the perpetrator in a house at James Street, Albouystown. The gold band was recovered. The police say a charge will be made against the robber.
