Maraval: Works and Infrastructure Minister Jack Warner says some residents in the La Sieva Maraval Community will have to be relocated.
This following the devastation left in the wake of torrential rains between Saturday and Monday.
With more rains forecast Minister Warner says reloation is even more critical, if not he fears lives could be lost.
The minister and a delegation from his ministry were on a tour of the affected communities this morning. He says money has been approved for work to be done and private contractors will be brought in to begin work soon.
Several homes in the area are on the verge of collapse and many families have been rendered homeless because of the situation. Many homes remain covered in mud and slush.
