Repairs to begin this week to repair fire damage at Wismar Secondary School

Linden : The damages sustained to the upper flat of the Wismar/Christainburg Secondary School during a September 15th fire will be corrected with savings from the Regional Democratic Council’s Budget, Region Ten, according to Regional Executive Officer Henry Rodney. 

Rodney made this disclosure while giving Minister of Local Government and Regional Development Norman Whittaker a tour of some of the major ongoing projects in Linden.

According to information released from the Government Information Agency,  Rodney pointed out thatthe region had sought permission from Minister of Finance Dr Ashini Singh, to use savings from its budget to repair the damaged sections of the school. 
Minister Singh has given the region the ‘go ahead’ to make use of $5M to facilitate these repairs.

A fire of unknown origin damaged sections of the upper flat of the school, the roof, and laboratory and staffroom areas.
