Ramotar calls for separate list for late registrants- PPP not interested in delay of election

Georgetown : Presidential candidate of the People’s Progressive Party (PPP), Donald Ramotar this morning briefing members of the media cleared the aired that the PPP is calling for the Guyana Election’s Commission to reopen the claims and objection period to facilitate some more than 5000 persons who were not registered for various reasons to be registered to vote at this year’s elections.

Ramotar however made it clear that his party does not want the election to be postponed and to have a situation of a two year delay of election, a situation that happened in 1990 under the People’s National Congress (PNC) rule.

Ramotar said that persons that registered in this late period should be on a separate list so the political parties can verify.
