Public workers being trained in vector control

Bridgetown.

Fifteen thousand pubilic servants are expected to be trained in vector control Environmental Protection Department(EVP) by the end of the year.

According Senior Officer in the EPD Maurice Gaskin, the training in vector control of public workers is an effort to protect them  from the scourge of leptospirosis.

 Gaskin says just over 14 thousand civil servants have been trained to date in a wide-cross sections of government agencies.

He spoke to the media as the EPD conducted a workshop for officers of the Royal Barbados Police Force, who Gaskin says are at risk of contracting leptospirosis in the execution of their daily duties.
