Georgetown : The police are investigating an alleged Robbery Under Arms committed on Roger Lovell, 37 yrs., of North Ruimveldt, which occurred about 12:30h. today by two males, one armed with a handgun.
Enquiries disclosed that the victim was at home sleeping when he was awakened by the men who demanded cash and jewellery. He refused and was beaten about his head and body; during the process, the victim made an alarm and a group of public spirited individuals from the Community responded, managed to disarm the gunman and allegedly inflicted a severe beating on them. The police arrived promptly and the men, together with the firearm were handed over to them.
They were rushed to the GEorgetown Public Hospital along with the victim, treated, admitted and are under police guards.
