Public Schools to Reopen Monday, August 31

back-to-schoolGeorgetown: The Ministry of Education announced that guardians of students attending public schools, and the pupils/students, that schools will reopen on Monday, August 31, 2015.

The Ministry sincerely hopes that pupils/students and teachers had an enjoyable holiday and are now prepared for the 2015-2016 academic year.

Students are hereby reminded that it is important to attend school everyday, and it is equally important to be punctual.

As usual, the Ministry also wishes to acknowledge the sterling contributions of parents, and take this opportunity to encourage them to continue investing their time and other resources in the children’s schooling. Forming long-term relationships with class teachers, attending parent—teacher meetings and regular visits to their children’s schools, are some of the ways parents can participate in the process.

The Ministry expects nothing less than the commitment and professionalism of teachers across the country, and looks forward to working in partnership with them, and all other education stakeholders, to mold the minds of Guyana’s children.
