Promoter of reggae show upset with Kensington Oval

Bridgetown.

Jack Farrell, the promoter of the Reggae Splash Show held at Kensington Oval last weekend, is upset over a series suspicious occurences which took place on the night of the show.

Chief among Farrell concerns was the extended delay in the opening of the designated gates for general admission as well as the ticket booth, resulting in a massive backlog.

He claimed that the situation resulted in over twenty five hundred pay at the door patrons turning back, as well as the VIP gate being used to alleviate the backlog, which resulted in a number getting into the ventue for free and having access to the food and drink in the VIP section which they were not entitle to.

"We were supposed to open the ticket booth at 7 p.m.but the Oval management had booked a children's event which was supposed to finish at 6 p.m. but never ended until unti 8 p.m. By that time people had already started to come to the venue to buy tickets, however we were told that the lady with the key for the ticket booth had already gone home", Farrell told Trakker News.

"When we go the keys it was already time to start the show and a lot of people got fed up and turn back. We had to let people come through the VIP section because the backlog was too much and only one gate was open. By the time we got the problem solved, too many people was already in the sections they had not paid to be in", he added.
