Private sector reps seek sensitization on recently announced National Minimum Wage

worthGeorgetown: The Georgetown Chamber of Commerce and Industry has met with Labour Minister, Dr. Nanda Gopaul to discuss the recently announced National Minimum Wage for regular working hours order.

The chamber’s delegation was headed by its president, Clinton Urling and included members of its executive and other private sector representatives.

Also present at the meeting were Samuel Goolsarran of the Consultative Association of Guyanese Industries Limited (CAGI) and Norris Witter of the Guyana Trades Union Congress (GTUC).

The chamber sought clarifications on a number of issues relating to the order, which becomes effective on July 1.
