Berbice : A 26-year-old Prison Officer attached to the New Amsterdam Prison and resides at Stanleytown, New Amsterdam, Berbice is now in police custody pending investigation of smuggling contra band in the prison.
The officer who was on the Authority’s radar, was last evening, arrested inside of the New Amsterdam Prison with 528 grams of cannabis and 20 packs of cigarettes.
A case file is being prepared and sent for legal advice.
