Prime Minister of Trindad and Tobago admitted to hospital

Bridgetown.

Prime Minister of Trinidad and Tobago Kamla Persad -Bissesar, was  briefly admitted to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital (QEH)   yesterday evening after taking ill at  the Hilton Hotel.

Persad- Bissesar who was attending  the Mexcio-CARICOM Summit  in Barbados  underwent a number of test at the QEH.

Acting Minister of Health Senator Irene Sandiford-Garner told journalist that Persad-Bissesar had complained of feeling unwell during the Summit.

"She was taken here tonight for observation, we hope to keep her here before she files out tomorrow", Sandiford-Garner told journalists at the QEH.

Prime Minister of Barbados Freundel Stuart visited  Persad-Bissesar  for about 20 minutes  at the hospital.

Late last night communications specialist at the QEH Carolyn Williams Galye , told journalists that Persad-Bissesar had discharged herself from the hospital.

"Test were conducted and came back inconclusive.She subsequently exercise her option to leave the hospital and has return to her hospital room",  Williams Galye said.
