President speaks of “One Guyana” at 52nd Republic Anniversary flag-raising ceremony

Georgetown: President Dr Irfaan Ali, President of the Co-operative Republic of Guyana, and First Lady, Mrs Arya Ali Tuesday night attended the flag-raising ceremony for the 52nd Republic Anniversary at Parliament Buildings.

President Ali delivered the feature address where he outlined ten tenets that would help Guyanese maintain the country’s development impetus and create a “One Guyana”.

He spoke of the importance of attitude, character, narrative, values and beliefs system, objectivity, realism, achievable targets, governance system, Guyana’s position, and the importance of its people.

After his address, the President was regaled by a cultural programme that featured songs, dances, and spoken word poetry.

The Head of State was joined by several cabinet ministers, including the Minister of Parliamentary Affairs and Governance, the Honourable Gail Teixeira, who is performing the functions of Prime Minister.
