President has faith in Ramkarran’s return to PPP

Georgetown : President Donald Ramotar is still hopeful that senior party member and former speaker of the National Assembly Ralph Ramkarran will recant his recent resignation from the People’s Progressive Party (PPP).

The President said he plans to make contact with the practicing attorney who recently  penned a one line letter of resignation to the President who is also General Secretary of the party in Government.
President Ramotar told the media today, the differences are not “fundamental” and that “Ralph has made an enormous contribution to our party, to the struggle in our country and I surely would like him to return to the party.”

“Our whole outlook must be one of building world peace because only within an atmosphere of peace in the world will we be able to fulfill many of the plans that we have,” President Ramotar said.

Ramkarran resignation came after a meeting of the Executive Committee where a heated debate ensued between Ramkarran and another member. The party had since issued an apology to the long serving member.
