President hails Salvation Army’s drug rehabilitation works

Georgetown : The Salvation Army today launched their Christmas Appeal and chief guest President Donald Ramotar made the first donation.

The President commended the organisation for its work in supporting the less fortunate, and the rehabilitation of drug addicts.

“We have people with strong social conscience, people who are successful and have done well but who have not forgotten the less fortunate in the society, and that too, is a very important example in the development of our nation,” President Ramotar said.

Advisory Board Chairman Edward Boyer credited the drug rehab programme as one that gives drug addicts a second chance at life.
