PPP congratulates Leon Johnson’s test debut

Georgetown : The ruling The People’s Progressive Party (PPP) joins in congratulating young Leon Johnson on his test debut with the West Indies in the just concluded test series against Bangladesh.

The party in a statement says “The young Guyanese batsman gave a good account of himself with a well-played 66 and shared in a solid 143 run opening partnership with Kraigg Braithwaite.

The PPP firmly believe his call up was just a matter of time, as he has over the years, demonstrated his prolific batting ability.

The PPP therefore urges young Johnson to continue to execute his mandate with discipline, patience and commitment, three very essential elements in sports.

“We believe with the right attitude, as is evident in Johnson, coupled with his talent, his stay in the West Indies will be a long one

The PPP therefore urges all Guyanese to rally around this young man who will definitely do us all proud.
