Police recruits in shocked over colleague death

Bridgetown.

Recruits at the Regional Police Training Centre are in shock over the death  of Darwin Downes who allegedly shot himself in the head with an M16 firearm on Sunday.

According to Commandant of the RPTC Sylvester Louis everyone was in shock over Downes death.

"He was a disciplined young man. always willing to help the other recruits and it is basically a shock to see what occurred. Right now the school is in morning and we reach out to his family", Louis told Trakker News.

Counsellors were called in yesterday to help staff and the other recruits deal with the sudden lost.

Late last night investgators were still on the scene taking statements.
