Georgetown: A police recruit was shot dead in Tuschen, East Bank Essequibo last night by bandits.
The man was identified as 25 year- old Harold Haimchand Sukhai. At the time of the incident Sukhai was returning to the police training base at Eve Leary.
According to reports, three men accosted Sukhai and his girlfriend and a scuffle ensued and the young police was shot dead. The bandits then made good their escape.
