The Royal Barbados Police Force (RBPF) is cracking down on drivers who are opearting public service vehicles lllegally.
Station Sergeant Rodney Inniss, of the Traffic Division of the RBPF Traffic Division told Trakker News that lawmen have been cracking down on these drivers trying to stop the illegal practice but more were cropping up.
"The trend has been growing, new routes are being created daily, it is an illegal act and we are dealing with it", Inniss said.
He added that the police had received several reports of the pirate vans plying routes in St Joseph, St Thomas, St Philip and along Highways One, Five and Seven.
"This method of public transport is earning free revenue for the drivers of these vans, as word on the street is spreading and more members of the public are using this mode of transportation", he sated.
