Georgetown : During the early morning today the police carried out raids in Albouystown, Alberttown, Sophia, Meadow Bank, Charlestown and West Front Road during which 23 men and five women were arrested pending investigations into possession of narcotics, armed robbery and break and enter and larceny.
A. 25 starter pistol was recovered in Albouystown.
Lawrence Rodrigues, 27 years, of Light Street, Alberttown, who was sentenced to four years imprisonment during June 2013 following an Ex Parte trial on charges of possession of firearm without licence and possession of ammunition without licence; and a suspect in the murder of Quincy Sookall were among those arrested.
The body of Quincy Sooklall was found in the Demerara River on August 03, 2013.
