Police Force defends the Immigration Officer that sections of the public calling to apologise to Shivnarine Chanderpaul

Georgetown : The Guyana Police Force in responding to an article published in the Guyana Chronicle on Saturday September 19, 2015, under the caption“Immigration Officer must apologise to Chanderpaul” and which was penned by Hema Ramcharran, the Coordinator/Secretary, of the Indian Action Committee.

 

The Guyana Police Force states that in relation to the incident referred to Mr. Shivnarine Chanderpaul had stated an intended address that does not exist in Guyana on his embarkation card which was submitted to the Immigration Officer at the CJIA.

 

The ensuing engagement between the Immigration Officer and Mr. Shivnarine Chanderpaul was solely in relation to the intended address given.
