Georgetown : The Guyana Police Force has issued a response to the article published in the Kaieteur News yesterday under the caption “Recently promoted Police Sergeant caught with illegal 9mm pistol”.
In the article, it is stated that “among the guests at the wedding were the wife and daughter of the Commissioner of Police (Ag) Seelall Persaud”.
The Guyana Police Force is clarifying that the wife and daughter of the acting Commissioner of Police Mr. Seelall Persaud never attended the wedding ceremony at Cane Grove, East Coast Demerara, where the incident occurred.
The Guyana Police Force is voicing its concern at the sometimes reckless and scandalous journalism of the Kaieteur News in apparent efforts at sensationalizing police related events, and which often negatively impact on the image of the Police Force.
