Police failed to protect me

Port of Spain: Patricia Rachel Mohammed, a 31 year old battered mother of six is claiming "the law is not helping victims of domestic abuse." She is a victim of abuse and is disappointed that two months after she was physically abused by a male relative, the police has not done anything in relation to the matter, the Newsday is reporting The woman is also claiming that her children were also victims of abuse by relatives, and after making a report to the police they said they were unable to do anything about the situation. The woman showed a reporter evidence of abuse on one of her son's where he had a burn mark on his chin and a bump on his forehead. 

On January 28th she made a report to the Marabella Police that she had been beaten by a close male relative. She was referred to the San Fernando General Hospital for a medical examination. The results proved she suffered injuries as a result of the beating, which she presented to the officers. Mohammed is still experiencing pains to her back and chest, and to date the police is yet to do anything.

She was reunited with her 6 children on Saturday, after she went missing for nine days which caused her relatives to fear the worst. Mohammed claims she was unaware of where she was during the time she was absent from her home. She said she was constantly falling asleep and believe people was working against her. She eventually managed to "walk away"  and find herself back to her Rousillac home.
