Georgetown: A number of persons have reportedly been taken into custody, in connection with the gunning down of a policeman and injury to two others over the weekend.
According to reports, two assault rifles and a 9 mm gun were used during the attack, which left Corporal Romain Cleto dead, and two other ranks injured.
Reports say the patrol was proceeding south along Avenue of the Republic, nearer Regent Street, when the cops saw a white vehicle bearing a tampered number plate.
The patrol reportedly followed the car around Charlotte Street, and north along Avenue of the Republic.
