Opposition leader spoke with protesting farmers

Georgetown :  Opposition Leader Dr Bharrat Jagdeo met with rice, cash crop farmers and input suppliers who had earlier been engaged in a protest outside the Ministry of Agriculture. The delegation took their concerns, which included the massive increase in land rental fees, VAT and other issues, to the Opposition Leader after failing in their bid to engage senior government officials.

At the time  Mr. Jagdeo was meeting with President David Granger and his team on issues of a new GECOM chairman.
