The Opposition Barbados Labour Party (BLP) is calling on Minister of Education Ronald Jones to apologize for statements made in the House of Assembly last week.

Speaking during a debate on the Police Complaints Authority Validation Bill, Jones suggested that people in the BLP might be doing things that could cause the Royal Barbados Police Force to " take action".

'There are people who are trying to bring out the members of the Royal Barbados Police Force because they understand what is happening at the base of our society and economy, when that happen the police will have to crack some heads or shoot some people to restore order", Jones said.

Edmund Hinkson the Shadow Minister of Education and Member of Parliament for St James North says the Opposition is appal at Jones comments.

"The Minister of Education should apologize for the reckless statements he made in the House last Tuesday. If he fails to do so the Minister should be dismissed from the Cabinet by the Prime Minister", Hinkson said.

"The Prime Minister must be aware that if he remains slient on this issue, the public of Barbados has the right to think that the leader of the country supports the Ministers statement which in the view of the Barbados Labour Party is a viel threat against the people of Barbados ", he added.
