Opposition boycott of Parliament continues

Bridgetown.

The boycott of Parliament by the Opposition Barbados Labour Party (BLP) continued when the House of Assembly met today.

Last week, deputy leader of the BLP Dale Marshall announced that the nine BLP's MPs  in the House of Assembly and its two members of the Senate would boycotting  Parliament in protest of the Government not calling a general election.

He  accused the Government of breaking the fine and noble practice of Barbadian political leaders calling elections within their five year term.

Speaking to the media this afternoon Marshall said that despite the boycott the opposition MPs are close attention to what is taking in Parliament.

According to Marshall, the Opposition MPs are providing representation at the constituency level and are paying close attention to what is being place on the Order Paper of the House of Assembly.
