OP yet to pronounce on NCN corruption investigation

Georgetown : Cabinet secretary Dr. Roger Luncheon disclosed that the investigation into financial misconduct at the National Communications Network (NCN) has concluded and a report has been submitted to the Minister of Information, President Donald Ramotar .

Dr Luncheon said the Office of the President is yet to pronounce definitively on that matter.

He expressed doubt that there would be a wider investigation into the entity, “unless it comes through the Auditor General and his report about any one of the State owned entities.”

“We are actually motivated by how sensitively the Board addresses the issue and this one they addressed,” he said, “I think that the Auditor General’s report would guide the Board into other areas.”

He said, having seen the report, he noted that there are several recommendations made by the board about current employees. While he was not at liberty to disclose what those recommendations were, he gave the assurance that the report would become public knowledge at the appropriate time.
