NP workers back out

Port-of-Spain: Workers of National Petroleum Limited are back on the job and fuel supplies continue to leave the company’s Sealots compound for national distribution.

Energy Minister Carolyn Seepersad-Bachan says she has been assured that the NP workers are back out to work and service stations continue to receive steady supplies of fuel.

The return to work follows an agreement between the Oilfields Workers Trade Union and NP on Monday for the company to accede to the union's request for a health and safety audit.

Minister Seepersad-Bachan says she has been assured that the audits will be completed shortly. She's urging the public to stop the panic buying saying fuel supplies are available.
