The principal said it is unfortunate that the National Union of Public Workers, (NUPW), interpreted this as staff layoffs at BCC.

He pointed out that while executing the government policy on reducing costs, the BCC has been careful to ensure that all areas of the college are given the daily requisite services.

Best stressed that the college is functional and staffed. points out that the BCC is a government entity which receives the bulk of its funding from the government.

He said the college has always been vigilant and efficient in utilising all its resources and has sought to eliminate duplication, overlap and wastage of any kind.

Best stressed that  the BCC has never compromised on the number of teaching or support staff that is required to conduct classes in a safe and secure environment.
