There will be no increase in the price of airfares by LAIT now that Redjet has suspended its services in the region.
This assurance was given by corporate communication manager Desmond Brown, after several regional travellers had expressed concerns that LAIT's prices would return to the higher level seen before Redjet started operations last year.
"We have no intention of seeking to take advantage of the suspension of the services of Redjet to alter fares in any manner that would result in any unnecessary increase in ticket prices", Brown told Trakker News.
He added LAIT was very conscious of the role it played in regional air travel, and would continue to do all possible within its constraints to provide regional travellers with affordable fares.
