No compromise on Clement Rohee’s resignation-Dr Hinds

“If he gave the order then he is guilty, if he did not give the order then he has no control over the police force, either way he should be removed from that portfolio immediately.”

This is the clarion call by Dr David Hinds of the Working Peoples’ Alliance (WPA) who this morning during a picketing exercise at Office of the President said that there can be no compromise when it comes to Rohee’s resignation.

Dr Hinds says that that the murders of the three Lindeners represent the last straw for Rohee

He was adamant that the Guyana Government has signalled that it has no intention of engaging in the Opposition in “an honest way…they are not interested in national unity…they are not interested in bringing some kind of a political solution…if they are not interested in doing that, then we should not engage them.”

He suggested that the strategy should be one where the political leaders break off all engagement with the administration and “we should engage the people and with the people on our side then we force them to come to the table to negotiate.”

Reminded of the numerous calls in the past for the resignation of Minister Rohee, Dr Hinds said, “in this instance three people are dead and several people are injured, that is the ultimate that is the absolute.”

Dr Hinds said that, “now if you can’t remove a minister because of that, when murder is involved then we have reached the end of the line.”
