New United States’ Ambassador pays Courtesy Call on Minister of Communities

US AMB CCGeorgetown:This week, recently accredited Ambassador Perry Halloway and Political and Economics Counselor James Bjorkman, paid a courtesy call on Minister of Communities Ronald Bulkan, at the Minister’s office on Fort Street Kingston, also present was Permanent Secretary, Emil McGarrell.

During the cordial discussions, officials reiterated the mutual respect shared by the two countries, and promised to continue to co-operate and maintain friendly relations. Minister Bulkan thanked the US officials for assistance provided over the years and expressed his gratitude for continuing offers of support. Ambassador Halloway said that the US Mission is willing and ready to provide collaborative assistance in the areas of housing and renewable energy – particularly in hinterland communities. We recall that these issues had been major planks of the APNU+AFC campaign agenda, which have now been adopted as part of comprehensive government developmental policy
