Port of Spain; Trinidad and Tobago was without electricity for several hours, in a release T&TEC said the outage stemmed from two causes – a problem with the gas supply from Pheonix Park Gas Processors Limited which affected Trinidad, and a subsequent problem at the Cove Power Plant, which affected Tobago.
In some areas the restoration took as long as 10 hrs. It was re-instated with several delays in certain areas until eventually the entire country was restored. Investigations are continuing into the situation and T&TEC assured they will keep the public abreast as information come to hand.
