National Assembly‘s speaker wants more consensus in Parliament

Rapheal TrotmanGeorgetown: Speaker of the National Assembly Raphael Trotman is calling for more consensuses in Parliament, given the ongoing division that continues to dominate every sitting, as this is essential in moving the nation forward, on a path of development, and one that will secure a brighter future for all.

The Speaker noted that work in this regard has started, and he is hoping that change will take place.

“One of the bugbears that we have also is members of Parliament (MPs) for the most part are part-time and we don’t have offices in the building and that is something that will have to be addressed at least in the next decade,” Trotman stated.
