Georgetown : The driver of a motor car HC 110 has been detained by the police while investigations are being carried out for a fatal accident which occurred today and resulted in the death of a motorcyclist on the Demerara Harbour bridge.
Dead is Lemuel Ogle, 22 years, of Middle Street, Pouderoyen, West Bank Demerara.
Investigations revealed that motor car HC 110 was proceeding west along the bridge, while Lenuel Ogle was driving his motor cycle CG 4998 in the opposite direction.
It is alleged that the motorcyclist skidded on the bridge and collided with the motor car.
He received injuries and was taken to the Georgetown Public Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
