La Horquetta: Police are investigating a gruesome murder of a young mother and her two young children in La Horquetta.
35-year-old Vanita Hayne-Reyes and her sons 8 year-old Malik and 5 year-old Mackesy were found this afternoon just after 3 o' clock at their Plumbago Crescent home with their throats slit.
Police officers say they received a call this afternoon and went to the house where they were forced to breakdown a door to gain access. Once inside they found the bodies of Reyes and her two boys.
Police say so gruesome was the crime, that the neck of one of the boys was almost severed in the attack.
Reyes, a divorced mother, was last seen alive on Wednesday evening in Chaguanas when she went to visit her companion.
Police beleive the mother and her boys were killed sometime late last night and today.
Officers added that despite the disappearance of the woman's car they do not suspect it was a robbery turned murder since nothing else was taken and there were no signs of forced entry.
Instead officers beleive the family was killed by someone they knew and trusted.
