East Bank Demerara :The police are investigating the murder of Gaitree Narine called ‘Lolita’, 26 years of Back Road, Soesdyke, EBD, which occurred at about 8:10 AM. today at Alliance Road, Timehri, EBD.
The police says, Gaitree Narine went to the home of the father of her three children, from whom she recently separated, to collect a sum of money when he allegedly attacked her and chopped her about the body with a cutlass. He then drank a quantity of suspected poison and jumped into a nearby creek.
The suspect was taken out of the creek in an unconscious condition and along with Gaitree Narine taken to the Diamond Diagnostic Centre where Gaitree Narine was pronounced dead on arrival. The suspect was referred to the Georgetown Hospital where he has been admitted a patient and is under guard.
Investigations are ongoing.
