Port of Spain;  The body of a 20 year old mother of two of Pioneer Drive, Sea Lots, was found floating off Dhein's Bay in Carenage on Thursday. Angela Assing went missing in Port of Spain on Wednesday after she left her home to go to her workplace in Woodbrook to return a cheque on which her name was misspelt, she then went to do some shopping in the Port of Spain area. It was reported that sometime during the day she sent a call me request to a friend, but when the friend attempted to contact her their was no answer, which eventually led to her family filling a missing person's report on Thursday Morning.

The Police contacted Assing's mother on Thursday afternoon some six hours after a body was discovered, they requested that she view the body because it fit the description of her daughter. She positively identified the body as Angela's. Her abdomen was sliced open from the navel downward and her intestines removed. Senior police expressed horror over the level of brutality used against the young woman who was a geriatric nurse.

The autopsy concluded that Assing died as a result of 'acute hemorrhagic shock due to de-cavitation injuries of the abdominal content". Detectives said up to late yesterday they have no leads as to who the killer might be. Homicide officers are continuing investigations.
