Minister of Education Ronald Jones has suggested that some members of the Opposition may be trying  unrest in the country.

Speaking in the House of Assembly during a debate on the Police Authority Validation Bill, Jones hinted that members of the Barbados Labour Party might be involved in activites that could cause the Royal Barbados Police Force to take action.

'Those who plant the seeds of destruction – those seeds of destruction will come on them. All that I am appealing to is good sense, good judgment. There are always motley crews available those who know how to gather can gather among them", Jones said.

"There are alway motley crews available. Those who know how to gather can among themselves. Those motley crews dont have to fear the members on his side, we fight for the liberation from economic deprivation of our people. We try to up structures that are important for every one of our people ", he continued.

Jones charged that they were people trying to bring out the members of Royal Barbados Police Force because they do not understand what is happening at the base of the society and economy.

Leader of the Opposition Mia Mottley urged Jones to withdraw his comments which she said constituted a veiled to Barbadians.  Mottley told the House that Jones had "gotten a little carried away during his speech.

"I do ot want to think that a man who has acted many times as Prime Minister of this country could suggest that the members of the Royal Barbados Police Force should use force to restore order ", Mottley said.

"He (Jones) said they should use a level of force that goes by anyone's standard beyond reason, because you can't be cracking anyone's head for any reason whatsoever and you can't be seeking to shoot someone unless they have a knife or gun that is threatening yourself", Mottley told the House.
