Essequibo : A sixty-three year old miner was this morning arrested at Iruma Backdam in the Cuyuni River, after he was found in possession of an unlicensed 9mm pistol, twenty-three live matching rounds as well as two magazines for the said firearm. Police responding to a report of threats made against the suspect, approached his camp, the man was at the time resting in a hammock upon seeing the ranks quickly tossed the pistol into a cartoon box in which the ammunition and the firearm components were also found. The Duncan Street Kitty resident is being processed for court.
