Whitter told Trakker News, the focus tended to be on small and medium sized entrepreneurs but there was no distinction between this group and micro businesses, the needs of the latter were continually being overlooked.

"People tend to forget that in many cases those businesses start at the mico level", Whitter said. She accused several organisations  who claimed it was within their mandate to support the development of micro businesses of paying lip service.

" I have knocked on doors on several occasions, I have been promised training and other things that would have assist them but it has not come to anything. It many cases it was just lip service and theentrpreneurs became tired and frustrated", she added.

"Even when the doors are open, the cost associated makes it impossible for several of them to take advantage of the opportunities', Whitter lamented.
